The chemical reactions yeast cells undergo can add or take away flavors in your beer. These reactions can also have a significant impact on the flavors of your hops and how they present. Knowing how the yeast strain you're considering will affect the hops you've chosen is key, and here are some tips on how to predict the outcome:

  • Read reviews of the yeast online
  • Try clone recipes or recipes you've tried before
  • Trial and error

Be aware that your first time around might not yield the results you were hoping for, and this is why repetition of recipes is so important.
