Civil Life Brewing Company Cream Ale

What the brewers say

Crisp, accessible, golden beer with low hop character and a clean finish.

What our panel thought

Lovely floral, herbal hop aroma; soft cracker, bready, light corn note. Good floral hop flavor with mild, balanced bitterness. Subdued malt. Light body, good carb. Leaves lingering bitterness in the dry finish to keep the drinker wanting more. Good drinkability and lovely aroma.

What our editors thought

Hamburger-bun, Hawaiian-roll sweet note, with a touch of orange blossom and faint sulphur in the nose. The malt is light with slight bitterness at best, for a clean, prototypically "beery" beer. Satisfying in its simplicity.

Sun King Brewing Sunlight Cream Ale

Candied peach and strawberry notes coupled with hints of pine and sugar cookies. Bready taste with light herbal hops; hints of strawberry, peach, lemon. A flash of sweet, a bit of corn, and the finish fades away. Heftier body than expected but finishes crisp and clean.

Sun King Brewing Orange Vanilla Sunlight Cream Ale

Aroma: Orange creamsicle, orange creamsicle... oh, and a light note of orange creamsicle. Heavy-handed vanilla. Flavors are muted by comparison. Slight malt attempts to hold it together. Underlying acidic edge and pith. One-dimensional. An Orange Julius beer. A nice grapefruit-hops element bolsters the finish.

Uinta Brewing Grapefruit Nosh

Pleasant grapefruit zest-and-juice aroma. Bright grapefruit throughout pairs well with old-school caramel and pine-citrus hops. Lightly tart, with pithy bitterness balancing sweet heavy fruit, while unassuming malt provides body. Finishes dry and a bit tart, making you want more.
