What the brewers say

“Brewed with barley, wheat, rice. Fruity, slightly tart. Dry finish.”

What our panel thought

“White wine on the nose, with a rounded light fruitiness, bready notes mid-palate, and spice on the finish. Chardonnay and toast? Malt sweetness of the body hits early, cut by a wave of phenolic spice and dry white-wine grape. Tart-sweet finish, but balanced overall.”

What our editors thought

“Cut grass, wet barley grain, and grapefruit peel in the aroma with a leafy floral edge. Grapefruit undertones and lemon highlights frame the slightly grainy sip. Heavier body slows down the generally faster moving style.”

Great Divide Brewing Co Laws Barrel-Aged Yeti (2022)

“Bourbon-barrel aroma dominates, with undercurrents of chile, peppermint. Lingering chocolate and licorice notes. In the sip, chocolate, caramel, medium-roast coffee lay the foundation. Brighter notes of vanilla, dark cherry, dates rise to the top. Lighter body allows for more generous pours.”

Ahnapee Brewery Chores Zot

“The aroma hits with banana and rich bready malt. Honey-like sweetness. Butterscotchy. Fruity aspect takes a back seat in the flavor and lets the crusty white-bread malt notes take center stage. High carbonation and spicy hop bitterness keep the malt from being too sweet. Finishes clean.”

Great Divide Brewing Co Colette Farmhouse Ale

“Peppery phenols coupled with floral and mint-like hop notes with a hint of bubblegum-like esters. The initial peachy malt sweetness in the flavor quickly gives way to a gentle but nondescript bitterness that fades into a semidry finish. Great effervescence and dry finish make it more-ish.”
