Halfway Crooks Beer MTRC

What the brewers say

“Subtly hoppy, malt-accented bright lager.”

What our panel thought

“Grassy Noble hops in the nose. Unexpected bright citrus notes hit the tongue first, followed by a slight sweetness that transitions nicely to a clean bitterness. Fairly bitter, leading into a slight hint of grain and a lemon-like hop finish. More German pils than helles. Very enjoyable and well balanced, crisp, and refreshing.”

What our editors thought

“Classical herbal-floral aroma, balanced and restrained, with elegant cohesion. Lightly bready in the sip, lean but full, with a cool detachment.”

Halfway Crooks Beer Farina

“Light herbal, earthy aromas. Mild bitterness, moderate spicy, earthy hop flavors, then some light white-grape acidity. Subdued soft fruit esters come out in the middle. Crisp, bright, and easy drinking. Nicely balanced sweetness and bitterness. Quick, clean, dry finish. The sum is more than the parts.”

Halfway Crooks Beer Zero Cool

“Bright lemon, candied lemon, rosemary notes in the aroma. Smooth, crisp flavor, with lemon zest and lemon flesh dominating a low bread backbone. Rosemary notes show up later and linger into a lemony herbal finish.”

Halfway Crooks Beer Exporrr

“Aroma of fresh-cut apples, blooming trees, baking bread. Dry, yet elegant, biscuity malt character with a refreshing, delicate plum-blossom hop character. Flavor adds hints of lemon zest, moderate rosemary and thyme herbal notes. Bitter, but well aligned with the subtle malt character.”
