What the brewers say

"Imperial stout brewed with Hill Country sourdough bread from Jester King Kitchen."

What our panel thought

"Complex and inviting aroma: vanilla, coconut, musty chocolate, light cold-brew coffee, burnt sugar. Smooth, medium-bodied. Roast flavor focuses more on deep mousse, rich baked bread. Alcohol evident but not dominant. Medium-sweet without being sticky or thick. Lots of complex nuance—a dance between roast and malt sugar. Roasted malts come through more strongly in the aftertaste; light acrid sourness in finish. Some lingering dark fruit stays for a long, pleasant time. Really unique approach. Well-done."

What our editors thought

"Black-malt nose stays on the pleasant side of inky, with grape juice and grape candy undertones. The sip is well-rounded, smooth, with a light nutty caramel note softening harshness from darker malts."
