Libertine Brewing That Girl is Boysen

What the brewers say

"A 2-year blend of spontaneous saison re-fermented with boysenberries."

What our panel thought

"The fruit really comes out in the flavor. It's fairly sweet initially, but that transitions into a strong sour. The fruit is big and seems genuine. The beer comes across a bit one- dimensional and reminds us of popsicles."

What our editors thought

"Cherry/berry liqueur on the nose is sharp and defining. The sip offers a bit more acetic acid than we enjoy, with a back-of-the-throat burn that's hard to overcome."

Revelry Brewing Co. Ramblin’ Rubus

Subtle barnyard aromas of leather, hay, and horse blanket hide behind distinct raspberry, cherry, and blackberry fruit notes. There is nothing sweet left in this guy. Fruit shines through subtle funk, some low oak character. Assertive tartness. Murky.

The Referend Bier Blendery Mont Sainte-Victoire Houblon

Fruity nose with citrus, apple, persimmon, blueberries, tangerine, plus minty-grassy hops and earthy leather. In the flavor, tart citric bite joins minty hops, backed by grapefruit peel. Slightly astringent. Disjointed—a chasm between nose and tongue.

Monday Night Vinology: Syrah

Sweet, almost candy-like berry aromas dominate some subtle funky notes. A dry and slightly astringent tart berry flavor counters the gentler funk and sourness. Flavors of white wine, oaky tannins, and a curious cinnamon and nutmeg-like spiciness dance in the background.
