Finback Brewery Incarnation

Viscous dark void. Intense coffee nose, with maple, prune, and vanilla. Round and smooth across the palate—luxurious notes of chocolate, coffee, and bourbon. Vinous barrel and roast cut the sweetness a bit, but balance leans dessert-like.

Prominent cocoa nibs along with the rye whiskey create a delightful aroma. The spice and chilies present themselves beautifully on the palate, complemented with a very silky mouthfeel. The adjuncts dance together seamlessly and gracefully fade away, with a nice bitter, dark chocolate lingering with sweet sugar stickiness alongside the dry rye whiskey. The alcohol is nearly undetectable. Very well balanced, cohesive beer.

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday.
